1,579 Votes Cast So Far in RSP General Convention

Voting is underway for the selection of new leadership at Rastriya Swatantra Party’s first general convention in Chitwan. Voting for central committee members began after midnight. According to RSP Central Election Commission chief Bhuwan KC, voting is being conducted electronically for 99 positions.

The election commission said 1,579 votes had been cast by 6:15 am. The election schedule had been postponed several times earlier. KC said voting would continue until 10 am today. A total of 384 candidates have filed nominations in the election. Rabi Lamichhane has already been elected unopposed as party chair. The results will be made public after the vote counting is completed following the end of voting.
