Congress MP Khadka Criticizes Government for Reappointing Sudhan Gurung as Home Minister

Nepali Congress lawmaker Bharat Bahadur Khadka has criticized the government for reappointing Sudhan Gurung as Home Minister. Speaking during special time in Friday’s House of Representatives meeting, Khadka expressed strong dissatisfaction over the decision to give the same sensitive responsibility again to a person facing serious allegations, including money laundering-related questions. He also said the National Human Rights Commission had held Gurung responsible in connection with the Gen-Z movement, yet the government had brought him back to the Home Ministry instead of taking action.

He also questioned the probe committee formed after allegations were raised against Gurung, saying the report had not been made public before Gurung was reappointed. He repeated his demand that the statement be immediately removed from the parliamentary record, saying the government’s double standards and arbitrary actions were undermining democratic values and the rule of law.
