DDC Products Distributed to Prime Minister and Ministers During Cabinet Meeting
Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary distributed Dairy Development Corporation products to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and ministers during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting to promote domestic products and support farmers.
A different scene was seen during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting as products of the government-owned Dairy Development Corporation entered the meeting along with major policy discussions. Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary distributed packets of DDC products to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and all ministers with the aim of promoting domestic products and prioritizing farmers’ interests. The packets included milk, saffron milk, butter, cheese, curd and peda produced by DDC.

The Cabinet meeting also discussed nationwide promotion and business strengthening of DDC products. Minister Chaudhary said government-level initiatives are needed to ensure proper management and market access for milk collected from Nepali farmers. She said coordination among government bodies is necessary to develop DDC as a more competitive and self-reliant institution, and added that the government itself should set an example by consuming and promoting domestic dairy products. Prime Minister Shah also expressed the government’s commitment to promoting DDC products and increasing the use of domestic goods. The step was presented as part of the government’s strategy to promote domestic products as a matter of national pride.
