Deuba and Koirala Factions Hold Joint Gathering in Biratnagar

A joint gathering of the Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. Shekhar Koirala factions of Nepali Congress is being held today in Biratnagar of Koshi Province. The Koshi Province-level gathering has invited Dr. Koirala, who had contested against Deuba in the party’s 14th general convention, as the chief guest. Nepali Congress Koshi Province Committee General Secretary Bhupendra Rai said the event is being organized jointly by Deuba’s old team and Koirala’s team.

Earlier, Koirala faction leaders had not attended provincial gatherings organized by the Deuba faction. Rai said cooperation between the two sides is now beginning from Koshi Province. The gathering has been scheduled at Manaslu Hotel in Biratnagar. Leaders Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, Dr. Shashank Koirala, Dr. Minendra Rijal, Bal Bahadur KC and NP Saud are listed as key speakers. The promotional material prepared for social media has described the Koshi Province-level program as a historic grand gathering. Deuba’s faction has already organized provincial gatherings in Bagmati, Karnali, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim.
