Dhawal Shumsher Rana and Durga Prasai Announce New Party

Dhawal Shumsher Rana’s group, which is preparing to leave the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and form a new party, has announced a new political party in coordination with medical entrepreneur and activist Durga Prasai. Rana has been made the chairperson of the new party, while Prasai is set to become its supreme leader. According to leaders close to Rana, an internal agreement has already been reached to select Rana as chairperson and Prasai as the supreme leader. The party structure will be prepared based on that understanding.

The party is expected to take its full shape next week. After the internal agreement between Rana and Prasai, two committees have been formed for party building. A taskforce has been formed to work on the party’s statute, name and election symbol, with Mukunda Shyam Giri leading the 11-member team. A five-member talks team has also been formed under the leadership of Raju Acharya to bring dissatisfied and potential leaders into the new party.
