Fly Dubai Gets Approval for Daily Pokhara-Dubai Flights

Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya said Fly Dubai’s approval marks important progress toward regular international flights from Pokhara International Airport, Nepal’s third international air gateway. He said the direct air connection with Dubai would help expand Pokhara’s international identity, tourism promotion, economic activities and reduce Kathmandu-centered air traffic pressure. Until now, Pokhara has not had regular international flights apart from some charter flights to neighboring countries. Pokhara International Airport, built with a loan of nearly Rs 22 billion and inaugurated on January 1, 2023, has mainly been limited to domestic flights. Tourism entrepreneurs, who expected the airport to bring large numbers of foreign tourists to Pokhara, have long been waiting for regular international flights.
