Government Ready for Policy Reforms to Develop Energy Sector

Infrastructure Development Committee Chair Ashish Gajurel has said the government is ready to make policy reforms for the development of the energy sector. Speaking during the welcome address at IPPAN’s 24th annual general meeting and eighth convention, Gajurel said stakeholders should inform the committee if any improvements are needed at the policy level. He said problems related to the energy sector should be brought to the committee’s attention so that discussions can be held and, if necessary, instructions can be given to the concerned bodies.

Gajurel said the government’s policy, program and budget have been brought in a private sector-friendly manner. He said the government’s future policies would be made even more supportive of the private sector. According to him, private investment is necessary to achieve the government’s policy goals. Gajurel added that the government has already introduced a private investment-friendly budget and will continue to become more private sector-friendly in the coming days.
