Nepali Congress has decided to launch a youth-focused campaign. A meeting of the Membership Management Committee, coordinated by General Secretary Pradeep Paudel, decided to run the campaign to distribute active membership to young people below 35 years of age. The decision states that the campaign will be carried out in line with Article 4 of the Nepali Congress statute, 2017, as amended.
Under the new Congress statute, three young general convention representatives will be selected from each House of Representatives constituency. Congress had also held a special general convention last Poush, saying it was aimed at transformation and generational change. That convention elected a working committee under the leadership of Gagan Thapa. The current committee is preparing to hold the 15th general convention in Ashoj. For that purpose, active memberships have been updated and applications have been opened for new membership distribution.
