Opposition Continues Protest in House Over Prime Minister’s Border Remark
Opposition lawmakers continued their protest in Friday’s House of Representatives meeting, demanding that Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s remark on Nepal-India territory be corrected and removed from the parliamentary record.
Opposition parties continued their protest in Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives. As soon as Speaker DP Aryal tried to move the House proceedings forward, opposition lawmakers stood up and registered their protest. The protest is linked to Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s statement made on Jestha 17 regarding Nepal and India’s territory.
Opposition lawmakers have been demanding that the Prime Minister’s statement claiming that Nepal had also encroached on Indian land be corrected. They have also demanded that the statement be removed from the parliamentary record. The opposition has continued to obstruct the House, saying the statement is sensitive and should not remain in the official record without correction.
