Police School and DAV to Play for U-16 Cricket Title
Nepal Police School and DAV School will compete in the final of the Jaykumar Nath Shah Memorial U-16 Interschool Cricket Tournament after winning their semifinal matches.
Nepal Police School and Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School, DAV, will compete for the title of the third Asian E-Learning Jaykumar Nath Shah Memorial U-16 Interschool Cricket Tournament. DAV reached the final after defeating GEMS School by 44 runs in the first semifinal held at Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground on Monday. Batting first after winning the toss, DAV scored 130 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Prasiddha Jaishi played a strong innings of 49 runs off 28 balls with nine fours, while Viraj Jaiswal scored 37, Satyam Basnet added 16, and Mayank Shah made 10 runs. Chasing 131, GEMS managed only 86 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. DAV’s Prasiddha Jaishi was named Pick Point Player of the Match.

In the second semifinal, Police School defeated Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya by eight runs to set up the final meeting with DAV. Police School batted first after winning the toss and scored 146 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Priyanshu Kishor Raut made 36 runs, Mohammad Abbas Safi scored 32, Rakesh Kumar Sah remained unbeaten on 21, and Sunil Thakur added 20. Chasing 147, Sainik was bowled out for 138 runs in 20 overs, despite Rajdip Acharya’s 64-run innings. Priyanshu Kishor Raut, Sunil Thakur, Aryan Sah, Sujit Yadav, and Sagar Singh took one wicket each for Police, while Priyanshu was named Pick Point Player of the Match. The final between Police School and DAV will be played on Tuesday at Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground from 10 a.m. The tournament, organized by Kathmandu District Cricket Association, started on Jestha 19 with 24 participating teams. The winner will receive Rs 150,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 75,000.
