Rabi Lamichhane Is Already Consensus Chair of RSP : Pradeep Gyawali
CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali has said Rabi Lamichhane can be considered already elected as RSP chair by consensus, while Balendra Shah appears to have consensus as senior leader.
Rastriya Swatantra Party’s first general convention has begun in Chitwan. The convention is expected to elect new party leadership and decide the party’s political policy and direction. Speaking while extending greetings at the convention, CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali said there appears to be no confusion within RSP regarding leadership.
Gyawali said Rabi Lamichhane could be considered already elected as party chair by consensus. He also said Prime Minister and RSP senior leader Balendra Shah appears to have already secured consensus as the party’s senior leader. Shah, who was on the stage with Lamichhane, clapped after Gyawali made the remark about Lamichhane. Gyawali extended his best wishes to other leaders who would be elected either through consensus or election. He said the convention would play an important role in determining RSP’s leadership and future direction.
